Cleaning Piano Keys

It was always a good idea: clean or disinfect the keys of the piano you’re playing.

Start by turning the power off or the volume down of the digital piano. Take a damp cloth or paper towel and apply dish soap. Wipe down the piano keys starting near the body of the instrument. The order of keys doesn’t matter, but you want to start near middle C, in case you get interrupted.

Step two is wipe down with water only on damp cloth.

Step three is dry with a dry cloth.

Disinfectant wipes are useful at the end of a practise or performance shift, as it has a chance to air dry.
