Year-In-Review. List the songs and top accomplishments since September. The heavy lifting is done, so this should be mere maintenance.

General questions. Go through your notebook and bring up questions, such as, how does music work (applied theory)? What are some terms that need definitions?

Extensions. Look for more material using the same technique from your lessons. For drummers, it might mean more pages from Syncopation, for guitars, it might mean something from Pumping Nylon, and for piano students, it might be a batch of Hanon studies.

Goals. These should be tangible, such as stage a mini-concert, pass an exam, or qualify for the band program.

Pivot lessons are points when progress continues in a different lane.
