Bands at Community Event this Weekend
Bands and solo students from Rick Imus Music Studio will on hand bright and early Saturday morning to welcome thrifty shoppers in Milton`s southeast side.
Students on piano, guitar, and drums will perform at the Eager Road Community Garage Sale.
The community event runs 9:00AM – 12:00 Noon, with music kicking off the first hour.
Recycle and Rock On
The theme for the performance will be `Reduce – Reuse – Recycle – Rock on`and will feature guitars made of wood made from criminal trees that deserved to die and drums made from 100-year-old Russian birch trees that were willing to do anything to get away from the World Cup of Soccer`s vuvuzelas. Piano students will stage solar-powered digital keyboards until 9:55AM when the sun reaches an unattainable azimuth. Tips will be accepted not in the traditional guitar case, but in clear, blue tint bags.
Though few songs are about recycling, the bands will jam on Steely Dan`s Do It Again for the first 48 minutes, followed by Joni Mitchell`s Big Yellow Taxi.
Vuvuzela playing and disguising one`s identity go hand in hand.
Caveat emptor
Rick Imus Music Studio offers lessons in voice and on guitar, drums, piano, and violin, and air guitar. It does offer (or even condone) instruction on bagpipes or vuvuzelas.
