FAQ and About The Studio

Mission Statement and History

Rick Imus Music Studio was established in the 1990’s and has grown to three locations to serve music students worldwide Online Live and In-Studio in Campbellville, Acton, and Milton.

We help students reach their musical goals through progressive private lessons and dynamic programs. This means the core of our progress is the weekly individual music lesson: one-on-one time with a dedicated teacher working at a pace that serves the student. Dynamic programs include seasonal student concerts, band performances, exams, and competitive and creative festivals. Our signature endeavour has been our annual international road trip (New York City, Memphis, Chicago, Nashville, so far!)

Since 2006, we’ve built a team of professional teachers with a broad bank of skills and qualifications.

We are an appointment-based business and can serve you best if we know you’ll be visiting. Kindly call 905-864-1775 or your local campus and we’ll be happy to schedule you for a visit at your preferred campus.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Typically, the first item we solve is format. Lessons can be Online Live or possibly In-Studio. If In-Studio, we’ll solve which campus you’re closest to: Acton, Campbellville, or Milton. Then we figure out which instrument you’re interested in learning: vocals, drums, violin, guitar, or piano. After that, we determine what day of the week makes sense for your schedule. We’re open Monday through Saturday. Almost all beginners begin with 30 minute weekly private lessons – meaning the student has the teacher’s undivided attention for a half-hour. The idea is to have the same time slot and instructor for each week. For example, if Joe is your instructor for piano on Wednesdays from 6:30 – 7:00, then you would see Joe each week at that time throughout the studio year.

It’s a two month minimum, which is due at registration. Following the two month initial period, we’ll setup a Pre-Authorized payment for the third month through the rest of your time with us. Students may pay for the year upfront.

Let us know by 9:00 the night before and we’ll offer to reschedule that lesson to one of our designated ReScheduling Weeks.

Agreements prevent disagreements. Enrollment is setup for continuous lessons. If anything goes sideways, students will complete a form giving the studio a 30-day window of opportunity to address the issue. If we can’t resolve it after that, then the lessons stop and the payments stop.

Fees start at $1,368 per year, or $114 per month for instrumental instruction.

Yes. Lessons are scheduled year-round, though we may have a temporary schedule for July and August.
